Anant Raj Cloud & Andhra Pradesh: A Game-Changing MoU Signed 🚀
What Is the Deal?
Anant Raj Cloud Private Limited (ARCPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of real estate company Anant Raj Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB).
How Big Is the Investment?
The total planned investment is ₹4,500 crore, to be deployed in two phases.
This money will go into building advanced data centers and a cloud services infrastructure, as well as an IT park in Andhra Pradesh.
Why It Matters
Digital Infrastructure Boost
The project is expected to significantly strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s digital ecosystem.
Job Creation
~8,500 direct jobs
~7,500 indirect jobs
Scale & Capacity
Anant Raj already has 307 MW of data-center capacity under development.
Currently, it operates a 28 MW load across some campuses, and plans to grow to 117 MW by FY 2027–28.
Government Support
APEDB will help with coordination, clearances, and facilitation with other government bodies to ensure the project is executed smoothly.
Strategic Vision
The move aligns with Andhra Pradesh’s vision to develop world-class digital infrastructure and strengthen its position as a hub for IT and cloud services.
Potential Challenges / Watchouts
Execution risk: As with all large MoUs, there’s a risk that not all phases will go as planned or that timelines might slip.
Resource demand: Data centers demand a lot of power and water; how sustainable the setup will be depends on infrastructure planning.
Talent: Generating so many jobs is great, but the local talent pool for data center operations and cloud services needs to scale up, too.
Why This Is Big for AP
It’s a huge capital infusion into the state’s digital infrastructure.
This could attract more tech companies, especially cloud-native and data-driven firms, to set up operations in AP.
By building a strong data centre backbone, AP could become a major player in India’s cloud & data infrastructure story.
