In a positive development for India’s rapidly expanding EV sector, Ather Energy has managed to narrow its quarterly losses even as it invests heavily in scaling up production and network expansion.

The Bengaluru-based electric scooter manufacturer reported a net loss of ₹154 crore for Q2 FY26 (July–September 2025) — a marked improvement from the ₹197 crore loss recorded in the same period last year.

📈 Revenue Growth and Strong Demand

According to data from Moneycontrol and The Economic Times, Ather Energy’s revenue jumped by 54–57% year-on-year, touching approximately ₹900 crore in Q2.

The company sold 65,595 scooters during the quarter, representing a 67% increase in sales volume.

The latest models — Ather 450S and 450X Gen 3 — continued to dominate the premium e-scooter segment in India.

This robust performance highlights the growing adoption of EVs in India, supported by FAME-II subsidies and improving charging infrastructure.

⚙️ Operational Developments

Ather Energy also made several key operational moves:

Expanded its fast-charging network (“Ather Grid”) to over 1,900 locations nationwide.

Announced new plans to set up an export-focused assembly line in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.

Strengthened partnerships with state governments to boost EV penetration in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

💰 Profitability Outlook

Despite losses, the company’s EBITDA margin improved sequentially, signaling progress toward financial stability.
Analysts expect Ather to break even by FY27, driven by scaling benefits, reduced battery costs, and software-based revenue streams (like connected-tech subscriptions).

The company’s leadership reiterated a focus on sustainable growth over short-term profitability, balancing expansion with cost optimization.

🔋 Ather in India’s EV Landscape

As the Indian EV market becomes increasingly competitive — with Ola Electric, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak EV leading the charge — Ather’s strategy of premium positioning, tech innovation, and customer loyalty remains its core strength.

With consistent revenue growth, narrowing losses, and expanding market share, Ather Energy is on track to emerge as one of India’s most resilient clean-mobility brands.
